Blog Post #21 - Be The Star of Your Own Movie
Hey, it's Andrew, otherwise known as that guy who wrote "The Last Law of Attraction Book You'll Ever Need To Read," and in my last blog post, you might recall that I detailed an awesome strategy for utilizing gamesmanship to leverage your creativity and your imagination in order to speed up your manifestations.
But there’s always more than one way to engage your imagination and really help things take off for you.
So today, I want to give you yet another huge strategy -- which rather than simply "playing a game," is instead playing a role.
And the role you play -- is to be the star of your own movie.
Yep - that’s the strategy. Be the star of your own movie.
See, here’s a little secret that no one really bothers to tell you: You’re in the middle of a wonderful miraculous adventure right now. That’s what life is. Sure, there are ups and downs, that’s how it is for everyone around you, no matter how things look on the surface.
But one of the only things making all of this harder than it really needs to be is your refusal to acknowledge the hero’s journey you’re on right now, which prevents you from operating from this new more empowered level of awareness.
You actually really are in a movie right now. And you really are the star. I mean really, if the thoughts that you think affect and alter the entire universe around you, how could you not be the star of everything you see? How could you not be the focal point of it all.
And just in case this idea seems a little too egotistical for you to really take it as seriously as you should, just remember -- everyone else is the star of their own movie as well. But their movie doesn’t affect yours -- they’ve got to worry about their own, and you’ve got to worry about yours.
Now you’re obviously not really used to viewing life in this way, and ideas like this can sometimes be very slow to sink in, especially when they contradict at least a few of the paradigms you’ve already built up over the decades you’ve been alive.
But if everything I’ve already told you before today works, and I’m telling you that this point of view can make a world of difference for you as well, why not just embrace this idea and see where it takes you. Why not just try it on for a week and see how it feels. See how right I really am about all of this.
Don’t really believe you’re in a movie? Why? Because there’s no soundtrack or credits? Because sometimes you just sit around doing absolutely nothing, which would never happen in a real movie?
Well, think about it a little more deeply here -- even the most exciting movies have boring mundane scenes, where nothing really seems to be happening. So don’t be fooled into thinking this quiet moment you’re in right now as you listen these words isn’t a scene in an amazing story that you’re living right now.
You are. But you’re never going to experience how amazing it is unless you open your mind and are willing to try out seeing what this perspective might feel like. After all, viewing yourself as the star in this quote un quote “movie” changes everything. It changes how you see the world around you. It changes how you carry yourself. It changes your process for making important (and not-so-important) decisions. It changes all the things that have been holding you back until now.
And all you need to do is suspend your disbelief for just a little while and try to embody this way of “being” for a bit. Just put your old way of thinking ‘on hold’ temporarily.
Don’t think you can do it? Don’t believe this is possible? Think I’m being unreasonable by asking you to try?
Well Guess what? -- You’ve already successfully done this!
You’ve already emotionally taken this kind of journey. You already know what it feels like. Because You’ve already felt real emotions every time you’ve watched an interesting TV show or movie. You’ve rooted for the hero. You’ve booed the villain. You sat through season after season of ‘Friends’ waiting for Ross and Rachel to finally get back together again. You’ve cared that much about imaginary characters.
In other words, you already know how to do this! You’ve done it every day your whole life.
And in the same way you temporarily suspend your disbelief about reality whenever you watch a movie or TV show (and how you feel genuine emotion while you’re doing it), you can do that very same thing for yourself as well.
You simply haven’t been adventurous enough yet to try it out for yourself because you’ve decided “that would be silly.”
But if you knew the mental visualizations that olympic athletes, billion-dollar company CEOs, and other highly successful people put themselves through, it wouldn’t feel so silly after all. None of them stopped and told themselves “this is stupid. I feel like an idiot.” Instead they said “I heard this kind of thing works. And I’m here to win. So I’m doing it, and I don’t care what anyone thinks. And even if I did care, I never have to tell anyone that I’m actually doing this!”
So allow yourself to step into a different reality. Claim the starring role in this little movie called your life.
If you feel any bit of resistance around this, it’s important to mention that some people resist being the star of their own movie because that would mean that they’re really responsible for their entire life.
And they just don’t feel comfortable with the idea of taking ownership of any of the failures and setbacks they’ve experienced until now. But newsflash, my friend - you already ARE responsible whether you want to be or not. It doesn’t mean it’s your fault. It simply means you’re the only one who can do anything about it, so you’re responsible. So you might as well just acknowledge this and step up into a position of more power over your life. That’s the only way it’s ever going to really change.
This means you don’t get to blame anyone else anymore. You don’t hide behind those kinds of excuses. Even if it really is someone else’s fault. Because excuses aren’t perks or gifts, even if they seem like they are. They’re thieves, robbing you of your own power and agency in life.
And Being willing to have all the things that you want means letting go of all the lies that you keep telling yourself for why you haven’t gotten them yet.
If your thoughts create your reality (and we both know they really do), then why not be creative in how you leverage them? Why not go in this adventurous and brave direction to finally play the role of a lifetime (that you’ve already been doing on autopilot in a less successful way anyway).
So be more intentional and stake your claim on this starring role, and Literally every single morning. Take the walking meditation method that you’ve already learned from me to the next level by voluntarily easing yourself into a nonstop ongoing immersive ‘trance’ that operates entirely around the idea that you really are the star, you really are the main attraction, you really the the one who overcomes all obstacles, achieves all success, and embraces their happy ending right now in this moment to enjoy for years to come. But yourself into this kind of mindset All day, every day -- until it’s just your normal default attitude and outlook on the reality that you’re living in.
Walk with your head up always. Take pride in who you are. Look around you knowing that everything you see was put there for your benefit. That’s how much the Universe loves you. This doesn’t mean you treat people like possessions. That would be disrespecting the Universe’s giving nature. It simply means that you now expect people to be in your corner. You expect them to support you. You expect things to go your way. When they don’t, it’s a little surprising because you’re the star. Actually, you’re more than just the star. You’re the hero.
And again, the hero always gets their happy ending. So you step up, confident that the Universe will always be right there behind you doing all the heavy lifting while you just go about the business of being your best and happiest self. You push forward knowing that things will go your way again tomorrow (or even just a little later today).
You tell yourself everyday, “Divine intelligence is conspiring on my behalf to make me more successful, make me healthier, make my bank account bigger, make my relationships deeper, and make everything work out for me.”
Look around with that mindset and dive into a gratitude blitz. Think about all the people you get to meet, all the friends you get to make, all the wins you get to have, all the moments you get to enjoy, and all the fun that’s always here with even more on the way. This really is an adventure. And you really are the star. Decide this to be true. Just try it!!
And see what kind of magic happens.
Grateful for you,
-Andrew
