Blog Post #13 - The Baton Pass Method
Hey, it's Andrew, otherwise known as that guy who wrote "The Last Law of Attraction Book You'll Ever Need To Read," and today, I'd like to introduce you to a brand new technique that you can play with.
Although, it might be more appropriate to refer to it as a tactic because it’s basically a combination of 2 methods you’re already familiar with (if you read my book) -- written story scripting and spoken story scripting.
It’s no secret by now how important the process of scripting really is to your journey of attracting and manifesting all the things that you want, and if you’re already at a point where you’ve really started allowing yourself to embrace this style of manifesting, then you’re at a really wonderful point.
But just in case you’re still getting used to it and you haven’t discovered yet how enjoyable AND powerful it can really be, I’ve come up with a new spin on the method that I like to call The Baton Pass.
The way it words is simple. Based on my own experience with these techniques, I personally have the hunch that you’re probably going to get a little tired of writing a little too early in your scripting session, and you’re going to be leaving valuable time on the table by either stopping too soon or pressing on and forcing yourself through it, which is only going to introduce resistance to the experience.
So I wanted to come up with a way for you to keep the momentum going in your scripting without you having to stop just because your hand got a little tired or you felt like it was taking you too long to write out your thoughts or whatever other reason the ego might try and sneak in on you.
So, in answer to this possible little roadblock, the baton pass is simply a move where as soon as your hand begins to cramp a little or you get tired of writing in any way, instead of stopping for the day OR gritting your teeth through the rest of the session, you instead take an extra 30 seconds or 60 seconds or 90 seconds or 5 minutes or whatever and you transition from written story scripting directly to spoken story scripting right in the middle of whatever thought you’re having the instant your hand gets tired. It can even be in the middle of a sentence if you want.
It’s up to you whether you want to record yourself as soon as you begin scripting or you just want to talk out loud to an empty room with nothing documenting it. As long as you’re giving this a shot and allowing yourself to experience what this really feels like.
Now just so we’re clear, the whole point of passing the baton from one format of a method directly into another is to demonstrate for you that there’s always a creative way to keep the momentum of a session going if you’ve still got more you’d like to do that day.
I want to teach you to think outside the box, and to break the rules that you assumed were there, even though they never really were.
I want to cultivate an attitude inside you where as long as you’re having fun and as long as you’re enjoying yourself, it doesn’t really matter how you experience gratitude, how you raise your vibration, how you improve your point of attraction, or how you invite the manifestation of anything and everything you’ve ever wanted in your life. You want to feel free to do whatever is needed, no matter what, in defiance of any false limiting beliefs, -- just getting the job done for yourself and staying consistent with this every single day , one way or another -- whatever it takes to make it happen.
If we have to wake up a few minutes early to make sure we have enough time, so be it. It’s worth it.
If we have to choose a different method that’s more appropriate for our commute to work because we don’t have any other in the time that morning, so be it. It’s worth it.
And if we discover in the middle of a technique that we’re not having as much fun anymore, but we want to do more before the session is over, and the only way we can think of to accomplish this is to pass that proverbial baton and switch to another method right in the middle of our thought or even the middle of our sentence, then so be it. It’s worth it. And it’s easier to do than you ever expected.
So your exercise for today is to do the baton pass in one of two ways.
The first possible way:
If you only have a certain amount of time this morning to do this, then time it so that you either switch from written story scripting to spoken story scripting as soon as writing doesn’t feel fun for you anymore -- OR if everything is going smoothly, and you’re not getting tired of writing, but you’ve only got 2 or 3 minutes of time left, switch to spoken scripting anyway just to give yourself the lesson and experience that it’s always okay to do this.
And The second possible way:
If you’re not in a rush to get anywhere, and you have as much time as you want for this, then just keep doing written story scripting for as long as you can until it doesn’t feel good anymore, whether your hand cramps or you get tired, or you get impatient and don’t feel like you’re writing fast enough to keep up with your thoughts or whatever ...and then switch over to spoken story scripting -- and then just keep doing THAT until you don’t feel like it anymore, whether it takes a minute or an hour.
This is all about putting your enjoyment of the moment above all else WITHOUT letting your ego trick you into thinking it’s not as fun as it really is so that it can get you to stop. So just be kind and patient with yourself as you do all of this. You’re doing yourself and your ego a huge favor, whether it knows it or not.
Finally, The last note I want to leave you with here is -- I’m your guide, but you’re the boss. As long as you’re always honest with yourself about whether something really feels good or not, you should always feel welcome to do these methods only to the point where they’re still fun for you.
Don’t do them longer than you want to just for the sake of it. If it doesn’t feel good, it defeats the whole purpose.
Anyway, that’s all I've got for you today, so dive on in, have a blast, and I’ll talk to you again soon.
Grateful for you,
-Andrew
