Blog Post #12 - The Key To Staying On Track With LOA Methods
Hey, it's Andrew, otherwise known as that guy who wrote "The Last Law of Attraction Book You'll Ever Need To Read," and today, I want to chat with you as if you've been working on my LOA methods for at least one week by now.
To begin with, Congratulations! :-)
Whether you’ve done everything I’ve instructed to the letter, or you did your best, and at least did ONE thing each day, you’re making wonderful strides toward finally manifesting more in your life than you could ever imagine.
And just remember that when rockets launch into space, use most of their fuel getting past the atmosphere, and then it’s smooth sailing from there. So I want to reassure you that if things still feel a little slow and you want faster progress, you actually ARE taking way larger steps right now than you realize, but right now the key is to focus on what I’m giving you one day at a time. It’ll all be worth it once we build a little more momentum together.
With that said, I also recognize that this early point we’re at right now in the process is where you’re most vulnerable to your ego’s influence, so I’ve gotta be a little less cheerful and a little more harsh to make some of my points and keep you on track.
So just know that I've got plenty of encouragement waiting for you. Things ARE going to get brighter and brighter as we move along and you do more consecutive days of methods. But today is about solving the problem of procrastination, so we can’t exactly be all sunshine and rainbows with everything today.
Now that I’ve fairly prepared you, let’s be real here.
Here you've been at this for a few days now, and with our first week just about behind us, now is one of those critical points where we find out together if you’re really going to stick with it this time ...or if you’re just going to quit like you always have in the past.
Now when you think about it, there’s no reason to give up on anything we’re doing here. It’s not like you’re sore from working out and can therefore rationalize that maybe you just need one more day to recover before getting back on schedule.
And it’s not like any of what you’ve been doing here is real work. If you’ve actually been fully committing to the process and giving each method an honest try each day, you should have experienced at least some positive emotions while you’re doing it. So unless you’re still stuck with a bad case of perfectionism, which we both know only holds you back and prevents you from letting things happen, there’s nothing about this that you should logically be resistant to.
And if you’ve been on board with this 100% so far -- following each day to the letter, fully committing and engaging yourself in each process... then tuck the rest of this post away for another day when you think you may be slipping, ...or better yet - never let yourself slip, keep your daily routine going, and enjoy all the inevitable rewards that will come as a result of your consistency.
But IF you’ve faltered on ANY of this on ANY of these days so far, then we both know that if you allow it to, it’s only a matter of time before the ego slips in under the radar, makes you more lax with everything I’m guiding you through, and before you know it, has you skipping a day here and there, then 3 or 4 at a time, and then you just fall off completely.
All because you let a little procrastination get in your way, you felt bad about it, and you then rationalized to yourself -- probably without even realizing you were doing it -- that since you haven’t engaged completely every single day, you might as well not try to focus yourself completely on any other days moving forward. Makes complete logical sense is some backwards parallel world kinda way, right?
Well I’m here to remind you that this is just another back door your ego is coming in through to keep you from making all those changes you’ve been wishing for, for years - whether it’s your finances, your relationships, your health, your career, your business, or anything else.
So let’s talk about why you might be procrastinating -- or if you’re 100% on track here, let’s talk about why you’ve procrastinated in the past and why you still MIGHT procrastinate in the future.
It all comes down to the reason you’re doing this daily work -- which of course is that you’re trying to get to that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow by doing these exercises, but the paradox here is that while these law of attraction exercises WILL get you to that pot of gold you’ve been after, your goals and desires alone can’t be the reason that you do them.
You have to want to these methods for the benefit of enjoying these methods themselves.
This is why I keep reminding you to enjoy what you’re doing each day.
If you’ve cheated a bit on ANYthing I’ve instructed in any of my LOA methods so far, the only possible explanation for it is that you haven’t really sat down and made the decision to exclusively focus on these methods for just a few short minutes each day.
In other words, you haven’t committed to doing the daily work (and I use the term "work" loosely) because you haven’t been willing to give it a real chance long enough to actually enjoy it.
To put it another way, unless you’ve done everything I’ve asked each day -- whether it was the method I suggested or the backup go-to method that you picked for yourself -- you haven’t made the daily energetic contribution toward manifesting what you want ...because you’re still trying to use the techniques to force a result rather than using them to enjoy the moment. And again, while obviously super ironic, the ONLY way they’ll actually work and help you manifest what you want is if you do them for the sake of doing them.
Remember in my book when I talked about perfect ice cream, and how one tasty spoonful a day would be more than enough to get your body in the best shape imaginable without you having to do anything else?
If this ice cream actually existed, who in their right mind would skip a day? No one because it tastes great, and it’s easy to fit into every day.
Believe or not, these continuing days that you stick with the methods aren’t about helping you manifest everything you’ve ever wanted.
They’re about getting you comfortable enough with the manifestation methods -- kind of like getting used to the taste of perfect ice cream -- so that you’ll give them your FULL AND COMPLETE attention for just a few minutes each day, realize how enjoyable they really are, then keep doing them, realize how easy they are to fit into your schedule, have a great time doing them every day -- and cultivate a daily habit that becomes a natural part of your every day life --- which THEN will help you manifest everything you’ve wanted since you’ll now be both an expert of these law of attraction methods ...and a huge fan of them as well.
Bottom line -- You’re never going to procrastinate on something if you’re actually looking forward to it.
You’re never going to feel bad about skipping something if you don’t actually skip it. And you’re never going to skip it if you actually want to do it.
If you’re not actually taking a few minutes each day to fully focus on whatever method you've chosen to do -- then you’re not giving yourself the chance to get used to the taste of this perfect body-shaping ice cream.
And the really crazy part of it is -- it takes WAY less time to get used to the flavor than you realize -- but you have to do these methods for the sake of the good feelings they give you, and then sit back and let the universe do the heavy lifting of manifesting what you want into your time and space reality.
Imagine you had zero football experience and you were told that you’re going to have to quarterback a team in the next superbowl. And that if you won the game, everyone would love you. All sorts of opportunities would present themselves. People would be falling all over themselves to do nice things for you. But if you lost the game, everyone would hate you. You’d be fired from your job. Nobody would hire you. You’d be harassed everywhere you went.
Without even knowing how to throw a football, you’d be a little stressed over this situation now, wouldn’t you.
Well, what if I told you -- listen -- all you have to do is practice throwing a football for five minutes a day into a net. You don’t have to practice on moving targets. You don’t have to worry about where the ball’s going to end up. You’re just practicing your throwing motion -- and on the big day of the game the universe will guide the ball into the hands of the receivers without you doing anything.
Considering everything that was on the line for you, wouldn’t that be a MUCH better option than trying to learn how to pass to moving receivers on a chaotic football field with bright stadium lights shining in your eyes, thousands of screaming fans preventing you from hearing your teammates, and a bunch of 300 pound monsters trying to tackle you with everything they’ve got each and every play?
Where I’m going with this example is WHY try to FORCE manifestations to happen when INSTEAD you can just put yourself through a nice calm daily practice each day with nothing at stake and no chance of anything going wrong ...and let the universe score your touchdowns for you?
Wouldn’t that be much better?
Isn’t that plenty of reason to just do this every day?
Oh, and one more thing I forgot about the Super Bowl example. What if through the daily practice of throwing that football you started really enjoying it and figured out that throwing that ball is a lot of fun, and gives you a lot of joy, and results in a lot of positive emotions?
How awesome would that be? ESPECIALLY when you realized you can throw the ball as much and as often as you want, and nothing can possible go wrong, and the universe is still going to win that Super Bowl for you?
THIS is how you need to remember to treat and view these manifestation methods. This is the perspective that’s going to take you all the way to the endzone.
So do whatever method you're going to do today with this way of seeing things. And watch what kind of magic happens. :-)
Grateful for you,
-Andrew
